How to Remove Vehicle Wraps

Vehicle wraps are used in mobile advertising. The wraps are ideal in marketing virtually everything. The wraps are highly regarded and as a result some companies are even going to the extent of paying consumers for rights to place their wraps on their vehicles. The vehicles wraps are designed to last for a long period of time. However the wraps have to eventually come off. How the vehicle wrap is removed from a vehicle determines how well the vehicle will get to look at the end of the exercise. The removal process is not very complicated but care has to be taken.

The removal of the wrap should be done without affecting the paint on the vehicle. A heat gun is the best tool for use in the removal of the wrap. The removal of the vehicle wrap has to be proceeded by cleaning of the wrap. All the dirt which might be on the wrap needs to be removed to prevent dirtying the vehicle. The heat gun can be used once the wrap has been verified to be sparkling clean. The heat gun should be used to heat one corner of the vinyl wrap. The heating will eventually lead to the separation of the vinyl from the vehicle.

The heat gun needs to be moved along as the wrap peels off the vehicle. This helps in preventing damage to the paintwork underneath. As the wrap peels off one should pull the wrap away slowly. The wrap needs to be pulled off in sections. Ideally if the heat gun is used well the wraps should peel off in large sheets. Lastly once the wraps are removed from the vehicle, paint thinner can be used to clean the adhesive from the vehicle. Because the wraps are not reusable they should be disposed.
